Apparently I've had this account since 2016, but it's mostly a dustbunny-filled repository of exchange letters. So, introductions!

I'm Minna, I use she/her pronouns, and my other primary fandom handles are [archiveofourown.org profile] minnabird, [tumblr.com profile] minnarr, and [twitter.com profile] mynaminnarr. I've crossed the threshold of 30, and I've been hanging around in fandom since high school.

Currently I'm in Word of Honor & related fandoms, MXTX fandoms (largely CQL but I'm reading other things), and Star Wars. I've also spent a significant amount of time in Harry Potter and Sherlock (BBC) (which I am not in anymore) and Doctor Who and Campaign (Star Wars) (which remain lodged in my heart, even if I am not currently engaged in them).

Probably my primary thing is writing, but if you poke around on my Tumblr you can find gifs and fanart as well, and I like to make podfic and filk. I just finished six months writing a long (for me) WIP, so naturally I'm eagerly digging into the next one.

You've possibly seen me around various multifandom exchanges and events. I've also helped mod pod_together in 2021 and Star Wars Big Bang 2021 and 2022.

Hello, dear author! Thank you for writing for me. This is a lot, but it's really just to give you a sense of my tastes and as many options to work with as I can.

Long list of favorite tropes and themes: family (found or birth) and friendship, platonic intimacy, polyamory, time travel and dimension-crossing, secret identity, political intrigue, AUs generally, loyalty, finally getting to live when you thought that was off the table, mutual pining, heists, only one bed, fake dating/marriage and arranged marriages, truth or dare (and other games that involve gambling your closely held heart), fleshing out minor characters, trying to explain the changes in your life since the last time you saw someone but it ends up sounding absurd because your life took some wild turns, interactive fiction/games/puzzles, found media/epistolary and other nontraditional narrative structures

Hello, and welcome to the first Fic Clique Explorers Challenge! I wrote an intro post here, but I'm going to reiterate and clarify a few points before we get into the prompts.

Rules

  1. In keeping with Fic Clique's generally joyful and generous approach to fic, please keep discussions of fic generally positive unless someone has specifically stated they're open to constructive criticism. Even in the context of criticism, you should be working with an author to tune a story you both enjoy, not tearing anything to shreds.
  2. When posting fic or podfic in the comments, please put the title in the subject line of the comment and any applicable warnings at the top of the comment. Please do warn for anything that would usually merit an archive warning on AO3; warnings for other sensitive topics are appreciated, but do what feels right.
  3. All fandoms, ships, and topics are welcome.
  4. The only exception is that obviously we are going to be good to each other and not bring anything that espouses bigotry.
  5. You do not need to be a fan of Fic Clique to participate (though if you've found this, I hope it piques your interest!)

Structure

This challenge will run from March 1st—May 31st. You are still welcome to share responses to it after it ends, but we'll (if things go well) move on to the next after that date.

You may participate in one of three ways:
  • Write a fanwork inspired by one of the prompts. Please post a link in the comments on this post (with applicable warnings; see the rules), and you can also submit it to the AO3 collection here if you so desire.
  • Create a podfic for a fic that fits one of the prompts. Link in the comments, and feel free to crosspost it to the AO3 collection.
  • Bring a fic for discussion that touches on one of the prompts. I'll post a comment called Discussion Center at the top of the comments section; please thread discussions under this so they're easier to find. Please post a link, some information about the fic, and any applicable warnings, and respond to it as you like! I'll include some possible discussion questions to get you started at the bottom of the post.

Honestly, if you can think of another way to participate, I'm probably okay with it. It does not hurt to ask!

Prompts

I'm going to start things off with a quote, which is also the first prompt. For the rest, I tried to give a variety of options: ways to play with both structure and content.

1. "My hypothesis is that the currency of a close POV is detail. What is the POV character paying attention to, how much are they paying attention to it, what is the cadence of that attention? And how are the details presented to us, in what context and what comparison. I've talked before about this idea of like, quote-unquote 'in-universe metaphors.' I think about the Queen's Thief fic that Brenna brought a little while back where there's a line about like, 'the wind was lashing him like his uncle hitting him in the ear.' So it's like, oh that immediately is telling me something, and that particular detail is kind of improving my understanding of the character through their POV." —Nicole (Episode 81: "Home is Where the Haunt Is")

2. Horror (26: "Unsettling Vibes Abound")

3. First-person POV (82: "The One and Only Voice of Pastiche")

4. Bed-sharing (70: "Nothing Says Valentine's Day like Breaking Up")

Some questions to think about for discussions if you're not sure where to start:
+ How does the author explore this theme/effect? Is it similar or different to other treatments you've seen?
+ What is a choice the author made that you found particularly effective?

The night after listening to the Fic Clique episode on genre and subgenre in fandom (an EXCELLENT listen, before I argue with it I want to be clear that I loved it and it made my brain light up), I wrote an entire goddamn essay in 12 pt Times New Roman double-spaced and just yeeted said Word doc at the hosts. Until now, I've been too lazy to figure out how to format it for DW, but I do want to share it here frankly because I'm afraid I'll lose the file as much as because I just want to yell about gen fic always. Many thanks to deepestbluesky for helping out with the Chicago citations; I no longer have institutional access to the manual. :( Anyway, below is the essay, reproduced as well as I can on DW.

I posted an interest check in the Fic Clique discord, but here's a more formal writeup.

So: first to introduce this idea. In the process of talking about fics, Fic Clique ends up talking a lot about what makes these stories tick. This, in turn, makes me both want to read more and write more—to think about these ideas by trying them out with more fic. Also, while I love exchanges and bangs and all the stuff I've been participating in the last few years, I miss challenges that are just that: setting a specific challenge and seeing the various ways people tackle it.

So that's what I hope you'll do with me: explore fic through the lens of FC discussions. I'll set a few prompts with references to specific Fic Clique episodes, and we'll all take it from there. The first challenge runs March 1st, 2023 through May 31st, 2023, and if all goes well, the next one will post June 1st, 2023. That doesn't mean you can't return to challenges after their original run time though! I welcome contributions after the fact, and the posts and AO3 collection will remain open.

A little housekeeping: rules and structure.

Structure

In response to the posted prompts, you have the option of writing a fic, bringing a fic for discussion, or podficcing a fic. You should be able to articulate how a fic fits the theme, but it doesn't need to be a perfect match. More on the way this will look when the challenge posts, but right now I'm thinking discussion in a dedicated place in the DW comments, and fics or podfic can be linked in the DW comments and/or added to an AO3 collection. Does that work? Does anyone have better ideas?

Rules

  5. You do not need to be a fan of Fic Clique to participate (though if you've found this, I hope it piques your interest!)

i have never waited in anticipation for an album in my life. usually i get to music years (or decades) after it's come out, or find with delight that a band i like put out a new album a year ago while trying to decide which of their old albums i want to put on.

all this to say i've pre-ordered ready to be and also got all excited today that they'd put up a tracklist and am generally having the time of my life having a new kind of experience with music.

edit: fuck's sake i forgot dw defaulted to rich text fixed now
minnarr: leia (Default)
I've been wanting to write up kind of thoughts on albums here—I'm trying to listen to new-to-me music more generally, and I originally was gonna explore more local stuff (and probably will!) but I have also been listening to so much kpop. Really especially been feeling the kind of bubblegum vibes; I'm working my way through the TWICE bibliography, but VIVIZ was another excellent rec I got for this mood.

I was really planning to listen to their first mini-album when I finished another album this morning, and instead saw they had a new one out that I didn't know about! Anyway, all this to say I've listened to VarioUS 3 or 4 times today and that's enough for me to finally feel familiar enough to have some thoughts on the songs. By which I mean: to fall a little in love with all of them, which is what tends to happen to me as I get familiar with an album. Here's what I love about them.

PULL UP is just a bop. Love some fun textured instrumentals + a good beat with classic pop vocals.

Blue Clue was as immediately compelling to me as PULL UP. Love the like syncopated rhythm sections w the buzzy electronic backing. Extremely cool.

Love or Die is just kinda pleasant and funky! I think we're continuing the theme of having some fun textures under the silky-smooth vocals. I loooove the guitar in this, & the repeated "you can do better than that" is infectious. This one just goes down real easy

Vanilla Sugar Killer is what i think of as a pink song. Both the imagery and kind of the vibe, you know? Shimmery group vocals over maybe not the most memorable instrumentation, but it's a bop. These often take a while to really settle into my brain and become individual songs but once they do I'll find myself humming them and wanting to listen to them again. This one's getting there now.

Overdrive: I really want this to play over like the closing credits of something (complimentary). The movement may be chill and floaty but it's taking you on a journey. Some enjoyable tempo changes, a horn section! (We love a horn section).

So Special's like, sassy strings are such a vibe. And the piano + snapping break is like. You know when you stretch out a rubber band and use it to catapult a crumpled up piece of paper? I feel like that ball of paper as we go back into the main beat/melody for the end

minnarr: leia (Default)
I shared these in a discord server the other week, but I kind of want to put them here for posterity! I put the fics I bookmarked between 1/1/2022 and 12/21/2022 (so a majority of the fics I read for the first time this year; I try to bookmark everything I read because that's my check, I've read this marker) into a Google sheet, then generated some pie charts. I also have thoughts on those results and lists of all the fandoms and relationships I read this year.

very strange living in the kind of house and neighborhood where you chat with neighbors who have opinions about your shared fenceline in the backyard. neighbor on one side is a ferocious gardener with a beautiful yard. we finally got the landlord to send someone to hack back just so much foliage (overgrown bougainvillea/some kind of rapacious sunflower tree-shrub thing that had taken over half the yard/ferns) and he cut MOST of the sunflower out but left the roots so she dug them out for us (!) and is helping us plant some ryegrass there instead (!!), so i spent my sunday morning acquiring a hose and setting it up with a sprinkler attachment she's lending us. also stood around chatting for half an hour because we are both prone to chat vortexes, but i don't mind that.

her motive in being so helpful re: the yard appears to be half that she just really cares about gardening and half that she hated the tenants before us and wants us to stay here. i still need to figure out a way to thank her.

brain zooming every which way with fic writing, not settling on anything. i have yuletide and a zine and then just an overwhelming number of wips besides.

i have seen a post for a ye baiyi week on tumblr later this month though so i plan to put on my gif-making hat today.

i acquired pokemon sword maybe two weeks ago, and it's the first new main pokemon game i've had since sapphire on the gameboy advance. i've been having the time of my life. i keep wanting to make an ice team happen but i think what i really want is Really High Attack Stats which none of my ice babies particularly have. (sneasel is my favorite of them; my galarian mr mime has a fairy type move i'd been wanting and dynamax level 2 but not a very good attack stat so he may just be on my team for the dragon type gym; i've been trying to make snover happen since i first caught him but he's more a catching pokemon guy than a gym-clearing guy).

i named my sobble chengling bc he looked so wet and pathetic and i'm genuinely so proud of my son. he's an inteleon now. i'm not not thinking about chengling getting trained up into a cool spy by wenzhou. (similarly, i miss my eldegoss, who is the first grass pokemon i think i've really loved having on my team. his name is huaisang and he's sooo good. it is sheer coincidence that two of my faves have fandom names, because i name like 95% of my pokemon just on vibes. there's a gertrude somewhere, i think).

i didn't realize until i was writing the date in the post title that it's november 13th. that was my mom's birthday, and it's generally the day i choose to remember her, rather than the day she died (30th). 23 years now. i need to take a moment for her at some point today.

General DNWS: infidelity, humiliation kink, characters doing the thing where they ask the partner to beg/ask for something in a specific way, seizures, underage, any kind of ageplay or parent/child type nicknames or roleplay

Long list of favorite tropes and themes: family (found or birth) and friendship, platonic intimacy, time travel and dimension-crossing, secret identity, political intrigue, AUs generally, loyalty, finally getting to live when you thought that was off the table, mutual pining, heists, only one bed, fake dating/marriage and arranged marriages, truth or dare (and other games that involve gambling your closely held heart), fleshing out minor characters, trying to explain the changes in your life since the last time you saw someone but it ends up sounding absurd bc your life took some wild turns

Qi Ye

Things I love about this canon: the many deeply felt relationships with varying levels of actual communication about the depth of feeling, the twisty plots and schemes, people finding themselves in impossible situations, everything about the past life stuff

Prompts:

Zhou Zishu and Jing Beiyuan are soulmates. This has nothing to do with whether or not they're in love. There's just something in them that recognizes the other in a way that no one else does.

Qi Ye timelines crossing: Original flavor Jing Beiyuan turns up in the version of events that happened in the main plot of QY. He crosses paths with Wu Xi or Helian Yi, who have to cope with this strange version of Beiyuan. Bonus points if they're a little horrified by him.

(frankly I love any version of this plot with either time travel or crossing between different timelines. stick an unexpectedly changed version of a character with anyone who cares deeply about the version they know and I go wild)

What would Jing Qi's promised seventh life have looked like if Soulhook Envoy hadn't thrown him back into a redo of his first life instead? What era would he be born into, how would the bond between him and Helian Yi manifest, how much would he remember? Would he meet others he'd known in other lives?

Hi, hello, I'm here to say that I think Su Qingluan is fascinating because she is forever in such a precarious position, especially when it comes to women's options in Da Qing. Caught up and over her head in these political machinations, but acting so decisively when she needs to. Relegated to Helian Yi's concubine, and aware that this could be less than permanent, and frankly thrown into his path as a cynical political move because she looks like the man Helian Yi is obsessed with. I just think there's so many possibilities to dig into with her, from the horror of her situation to letting her develop into a stronger games-player to her loyalty to the girls from her former troupe to exploring her as a double/mirror of Jing Beiyuan.

Love Like the Galaxy

Things I love about this canon: lonely people finding connection, setup and payoff with the mystery arcs and Shaoshang's schemes, identity porn, complicated relationships between the women, actually generally webs of relationships and ambitions driving plot, shenanigans witnessed or contributed to by A'Qi and A'Fei or Lian Fang and Fu Deng

REMINDER: I have a modern AU DNW on this canon.

Prompts:

So like...what IS the deal and history with Third Prince and Buyi. I would love to see them becoming scheming buddies, or some political intrigue stuff with older them. There's such an interesting dynamic with them where it seems like they're kind of...friends but not friends, but Third Prince is often uninterested in sparing Buyi pain/indignity. They grew up together in some ways, but the distance between prince and subordinate is there. But it also seems like maybe they just understand each other, deep in their ruthlessly practical hearts.

Xuan Shen'an and Yue Heng can ALWAYS use more love. I would love to see stuff centered on them around when it was decided that Xuan Shen'an would be the emperor, testing them and threatening to pit them against each other but instead they emerge as allies/friends. They're both so strong in their own ways and I love that mutual respect and fondness between them. I would love to see that played up honestly at any point in their lives.

Wan Qiqi my beloved! I don't know what prompt I want, I just know that I want more of her being her over-the-top self. Wan Qiqi & Cheng Shaoshang are also such a fun dynamic, neither of them has many friends seemingly but they latch on tight to each other. And they have a blast! Also, there's that joke the one time about Cheng Shaoshang marrying Wan Qiqi and I'm just saying I would also love to see them shipped somehow.

Yuan Shen's story is left kind of open, and I think he still isn't letting himself realize just how deeply he feels (I definitely think he's wrong about being cold). I would love to see him coming to terms with this more happily post-canon. Bonus points: Yuan Shen/Cheng Shaoshang/Huo Buyi, which I think could play on this, and the weird tension and honesty between him and Huo Buyi that is and is not about Shaoshang, the way that Yuan Shen and Shaoshang are always ready to clown on each other but the second trouble comes up they're ride or die, their shared history with loneliness and disappointment and the similarities in their personalities, Yuan Shen and Huo Buyi caring for one another for Shaoshang's sake until it turns out they actually just care, also the three of them as a mystery solving squad is SO fun. Idk lots to play with between these three!!

Campaign: Star Wars

Things I love about this canon: humor with heart, the absurd number of pastiches and puns, found family! oh, the found family!, how colorful the world is

Prompts:

I do love some Zeblue. This isn't a prompt, I apologize, I just love them and am always happy to read them.

I would LOVE to see some defector AU or possibly one of the Bluebirds nominated stranded or forced to work with one of the Mynocks nominated. Any combination that can be funny, emotional, or ideally both.

I think Leenik and Aava should get to be friends. Or, like, commiserate? Penpals Leenik and Aava somehow. Members of the same holonet romance novel forum either for espionage purposes on Aava's side (isn't Neemo like, a Rebel spy or asset somehow) or because she just got really into a series/author and is burning off some stress through space!fandom. Leenik has a really bad day and Aava catches up to him at the bottom of it.

Lyn getting to do space Indiana Jones shit OR academia Lyn. Side Trip Lyn???? Unparalleled, I'm actually obsessed with Campaign Side Trip. I thirst for more of her being the most chaotic nerd in the room instead of the voice of reason. (I do also adore her as voice of reason, I just think it's very funny when a character is the voice of reason next to the people you're used to seeing them with and then you stick them with normal people and you realize, oh! they're a nightmare actually!)

Persuasion

Things I love about this canon: Lonely people finding people to love them (not just romantically, but a social circle that embraces them), gentle debates about literature/life that illuminate character stuff, yearning(TM) ofc, a mistake is not always the end and there is time to grow

Prompts:

I love any combo of Sophia, Anne, and Frederick just being like. Good to one another. I love how warm Sophia is with Frederick, and that she genuinely likes Anne for her own sake even before Anne/Frederick is a thing. Honestly, the first lovely post-canon Christmas with the Wentworth/Croft clan? Or otherwise an eventful family Christmas.

Elizabeth Elliot is such a quietly tragic figure in Persuasion??? She doesn't seem to have much less vanity or silliness than her father, but there is just a hint that there's more going on there, that she's a little more aware of how tenous her position is. Possibly this is because of the knowledge that she is only putting off the disaster of being unattached and too old to marry. I would love to see her get a way out (and character growth during it), whether by marriage or becoming close with one or both of her siblings or some other future she finds for herself.

Mary Musgrove is a harder sell for me, just because I'm not sure what story to dig into for her. But I would love to see some of her inner life; so much of her character is silliness and hysterics and being rather demanding, which is something of an Austen stock character type, but like. We know anxiety is a thing. I don't know! If you go the route of Mary focus, I will not be displeased at all, I just don't have a prompt ready. (Note on both this and the Elizabeth idea: I've always loved spinoff stories that focus on fleshing out Lydia or Kitty or Mary to give them their own arcs as protagonists in P&P fandom, and I have just realized writing this letter that I have no idea if it's a thing in Persuasion fandom but I would be so down).

Also, this is especially a fandom where I think setting AU would be delightful. I love adapting Austen to new settings and situations.

I implied in my author's note on Millions of Suns Left that I had ideas about Zhou Zishu and Long Xiao, and boy howdy do I. And about other things. There's actually a lot more than what's here, but it's stuff that I'd love to make it into fic eventually and be a fun surprise when it does. Anyway, as promised!

Went downtown figuring everything's blooming, let's go see my favorite tree from when I used to live down there. Turns out the kapok's an early bloomer and I missed it entirely, even the fluff! Ah well, plenty of jasmine to console me.

Super behind on Dracula Daily, but I'm enjoying the internet being in on one britlit meme. That and the Qi Ye chapters for the immortalwanderers group read are on my list for the weekend. Other than those, I'm a good chunk of the way through T. Kingfisher's newest, Nettle & Bone, which is delightful in that special T. Kingfisher way.

I keep feeling the itch to write but struggling to settle. I'm partway through a fic about Mo Weixu & Wen Kexing reconciling in the trembling on the branch AU and outlining a long Jiuxiao-lives SHL rewrite. (This one is being served well by a rewatch, which is also yielding so many tasty thoughts. You forget how much you forget, even just 6mos out from first watch). Also started a sad kissing fic last night which I may or may not finish.

Woke up at a morning time today, rather than sleeping in, so it's not yet 11 am and I feel like I've already done things.

Work this week: training, getting a Quickbooks file with a long history of lackadaisical data entry cleaned up and organized so it can be worked easily in the future, which is sooo satisfying honestly no matter how I grumble about "Why is THAT, THERE?" Great work for when nothing else is going on, great thing to pass on to trainee to learn some data entry since she just watched me figure out where everything should go.

Got some reading done on Qi Ye this morning while still lounging in pjs, likely will catch up to the Immortal Wanderers book club in time to discuss ch 22-23 this upcoming week. (Hurray!) I'm in the "Jing Beiyuan transitions into Court Scheming Mode" section which is delightful & even more so as Wu Xi trusts him to help him survive the capital and Beiyuan really seems to be earning that trust.

Been meaning to try a new bakery/sandwich shop that opened—it's a branch of a famous one in my home city that I've never been to. Finally went once my stomach reminded me that up earlier=you must eat before traditional lunchtime. Very tasty Cuban, 10/10, and a very sweet but also delicious almond cookie.

Last Monday I started work on a new fic and I'm being sensible and trying to get a good chunk down and possibly do some more concrete planning before I post anything. But also I'm nearly two chapters in and I just want to wail my feelings about Jiuxiao and Zhou Zishu.

It does look, from the showing so far, as if the average chapter length will skew towards the longer end of my 2.5-3.5k preferred range. So that's fun. There's just so much that needs to Happen.

In a rare twist, I have a title but the summary is up in the air.

Voiceteam 2020 was such a fun experience. I’m going to start off this rec post with a shoutout to my team, Blue Team Bleu, absolutely the sweetest bunch of people and so much fun to work with throughout this month. Even if I have not called out a thing you did specifically, know that I was enjoying seeing your stuff go up, getting to be in multivoice projects with you, just chatting and having a fun time.

There’s still so much I have to get around to listening to, but here’s my rec post as of this last day of the challenge proper. (This is also a Frankenstein of my Blue Team rec post and a general rec post I had started in Google Docs; there’s a little style mismatch, ha).

CAMPAIGN

Bacta & Leenik & Tryst; Bacta & Lyn; Bacta/Obi Wan; Bacta/Sian; Bacta/Tryst; Blue/Zero; Frina/Thrawn; Tryst & Christmas; Bacta/Leenik/Tryst

I live for the surprisingly deep caring that runs underneath so much of Campaign and anything that brings that to the surface is going to please me. Things that delight me about each of these:

Bacta & Leenik & Tryst / Bacta/Leenik/Tryst - these guys have been through so much together, and built up habits and what, over five years of shared experience? I love all the ridiculous shit they get up to - debriefings, matchmaking, ghost hunting - and I love the sincere moments, too.

Bacta & Lyn - I’m still delighted all this time later by the conversation Bacta and Lyn had at BHIKKE where they joked about being the two reasonable adults. There’s something quiet and chill with these two I really enjoy. Bacta seeing Lyn as his best friend (but Lyn still counting Tap as hers) is also fun - do they explore that further? How does Lyn compare with other people he might have counted his best friend?

Bacta/Obi Wan - Honestly, that tidbit has always made me giggle; anything expanding on it would be fun.

Bacta/Sian - Forever sad about these two, and there’s so much left open. Why’s Sian so reluctant to talk to Bacta? Do they ever meet again? What happens then? Or pre-her death stuff is fun, too.

Bacta/Tryst - that bit? In the last bottle? Where Bacta made Tryst promise not to...kiss? Sleep with?...any clones unless he falls in love with them… Except the clone is Bacta. Bonus points if Tryst is in denial partly because he doesn’t want Bacta to bring up that promise or the fact that Tryst kept it. Shut up.

Blue/Zero - Disasters. Disasters who are somehow even more of a mess at the end of canon than they were at the beginning. I honestly, I’ll read anything with them, but I really enjoy the loyalty that goes deeper than it should. Unfortunately, I also enjoy Blue being an asshole and fucking up a lot, preferably while really caring but being way too deep in his own self-made image of what his life should be

Frina/Thrawn - I should stop prompting this in fests and like, write it myself, but there’s so many fun possibilities with these two? First I’m a sucker for Holmes/Watson ships and there’s a moment, there, before Thrinpo and Thrawn got to the cruise ship/train/thing, where something could happen where Frina briefly forgets none of this is real… And then after the whole reveal, there’s the possibility of Frina picking away at Thrawn’s uncertainties about the Ascendancy (those have to exist if he leaves for the Empire, right?) and him becoming unwillingly fascinated. Def a good ship for No One saying what they mean and everyone feeling way more than they want to admit.

Tryst & Christmas - I honestly love Tryst with all his siblings, I just chose Christmas because she also has interesting stuff going on with the Kaiburr Crystals. I’d enjoy either pre-canon or post-canon, just more of Valentine siblings being too much like each other and having complicated feelings about their shared history/each other.

I am absolutely okay with tropey nonsense and AUs (setting AU, canon divergent, anything). Have fun.

SOLO

Enfys Nest & Han Solo; Qi’ra/Han

Enfys & Han - I just adore Enfys’ sincerity and hope and determination, and it’s interesting to me that she knows Han just as he’s making a real turn from idealistic boy to the man pretending he doesn’t believe in anything. They just have such interesting possible dynamics, especially if they met again after Han joined the Rebellion. Teasing, friendship, working together, bickering, even one offering the other comfort in a hard moment could be fun.

Qi’ra/Han - I’m honestly slightly more interested in older Qi’ra who’s had to learn how to work the levers available to her. I’d love to see more of the wistfulness, the wanting what could have been, the familiarity of something once dear. Meeting again as opponents/Han trying to outwit Crimson Dawn again? Forced together through circumstance? I don’t really care how they end up in proximity to each other again, or to what extent Leia is involved in that situation, as long as Leia isn’t made into an antagonist/otherwise maligned by the narrative.

STAR WARS PREQUELS

Padme/Gregar Typho; Bail/Breha; Padme & Obi-Wan

Padme/Gregar Typho - I’m not going to lie, I arrived at wanting this ship from three things - 1) I love Padme 2) I am entirely too fond of loyalty tropes and bodyguard/charge ships and 3) I really specifically crave a political woman and a trusting/friendly relationship between her and her bodyguard, and feelings accidentally happen. I also really like Typho’s line about Padme in AOTC basically lamenting her recklessness. Scrapes/fighting side by side, pining, politics, and figuring out what the hell to do with these feelings all sound fun.

Bail/Breha - I’m sorry, I don’t have much of a prompt for this, just a lot of feelings about Leia’s family. They’re such warm and practical people, and they have to balance so much - Alderaan’s interests, their devotion to the Rebellion, walking the tightrope of resistance from within the Empire. I especially enjoyed seeing more of them in Leia, Princess of Alderaan but there’s no need to incorporate that canon.

Padme & Obi-Wan - I’d love to see something behind the scenes/between AOTC and ROTS where Obi-Wan’s distrust of the politician Padme melts into something warmer - does Padme set out to win him over? Do they connect over past times, or current shared sentiment, do they have to work together on a diplomatic mission? What about an AU where Obi-Wan has to guard Padme on Naboo, instead of Anakin?

ROGUE ONE

Cassian & Jyn; Cassian/Jyn; Cassian & Leia

Cassian & Jyn / Cassian/Jyn - The world can always use more “they live” AUs, right? Actually, any AU with them could be interesting. I like seeing them work together, I love their wary trust, I enjoy thorniness with each other as they ease into figuring out this thing between them now that things aren’t so desperate and stolen comfort in difficult times.

Cassian & Leia - I’m kind of fascinated by the idea of them meeting up during their work with the Rebellion. They’re both prickly in their own way and they’ve both had to grow up very fast, but in very different ways and she still has a lot of privilege on him. They could either hate each other or end up fast friends - or both.

CHARMED (2018)

Marisol & Macy & Maggie & Mel; Harry & Macy & Maggie & Mel

Marisol & girls - Some of my feelings about this Charmed are slightly informed by the 1998 Charmed and honestly, I’d love more seeing a younger her through magic the way the girls in the 1998 series get to do with Patty - maybe a “That 70’s Episode” style short-term travel back? Alternately, I would enjoy Macy getting to learn more about this piece of her family she never knew anything about besides a picture from her sisters.

Harry & girls - I just really enjoy the found family vibe with this group, so anything keying into that would be fun. Kind of prefer AU/missing moment or something light and silly or that could have happened outside of an episode to something super tied into canon events just because I have NO idea what’s going to happen after the show comes back from break. Valentine’s shenanigans would also be very funny (would anyone help Maggie be festive? Is there any scheming involved? Does Mel hate Valentine’s? How does Harry feel about the whole thing?). Prefer not to have Harry shipped with any of the girls. Not sure how I feel about him and Charity.
